Geography GCSE Pathways 1 & 2

Why choose Geography at GCSE?

The course includes both physical and human themes:-

Physical Geography

  • Volcanoes & Earthquakes
  • Our Watery World

Human Geography

  • Population change
  • A Tourist’s World

Environmental Geography

Our Challenging World - The students will also learn many Geography skills, including map work and interpretation of graphs and photographs, including satellite images.

Fieldwork is an important part of the course making up 25% of the total examination.

Pupils will be expected to take part in field trips, and complete one fieldwork investigation.

The work is differentiated to allow all pupils to achieve their full potential.

They will also develop their ICT skills in producing their work.

Dates for the diary

The pupils will be entered for an exam in June of year 10 and then complete the exam in January and June of year 11.
