Art & Design BTEC

Art is a popular choice for students in KS 4. We have an excellent record of working with our students to achieve excellent results, helping them to take the next step on their career into Wilberforce, Hull College or other career routes.

We are proud of our record of achievements

Everyone who attended regularly passed. Very few got less than a GCSE C grade 3 pupils made 7 levels of progress 12 made 6 levels of progress and the majority of pupils who took art made 4 or more levels of progress (better than Gold Standard Targets).

All KS4 students now follow BTec courses. These are competence based which means that you just have to learn and show you can do certain things.

This approach offers students a much more flexible approach to your work so you get more say in what you do and the way you approach it.

Unit 13: Working with Visual Arts Briefs

Working artists often have to create in response to a brief or task that is given by their client. This unit will teach you the processes artists work through and will equip you with the knowledge to tackle any challenge in art.

All our units are written in conjunction with practicing artists and designers offering you the chance to experience a wide range of techniques, materials and challenges.
